Promoting AR while doing good, PTC tries out business models by offering Vuforia Chalk for free during COVID-19

Adoption of augmented reality for industrial operations is hampered by the newness of the technology and the difficulty of making a business case. However, the remote work requirements of COVID-19 create an opportunity for experimentation in a unique environment. PTC is aiding with COVID-19 requirements while also advancing its Vuforia Chalk product by offering a version of the product for free for field operations. Because it offers the product as a joint solution, Rockwell Automation is also offering the free version. The offer started in March and was extended to June and then August 31, 2020, as the pandemic continues. In addition, PTC is providing a user forum and limited technical support for the free version.
