Thyssenkrupp boosts efficiency, accuracy, and safety in Bilstein warehouses using HoloLens AR solution

November 27, 2019 | Case Study

Bilstein, a subsidiary of Thyssenkrupp and maker of aftermarket automotive shock absorbers, has seen double-digit growth in orders over the past several years and is simultaneously facing pressure to provide faster order fulfillment as consumer expectations shift. To improve warehouse worker efficiency, accuracy, and safety, Bilstein piloted an augmented reality (AR) solution using HoloLens headsets to aid workers in pick-and-pack tasks. The project was a collaboration between Thyssenkrupp North America's central digital transformation function and Microsoft, which Thyssenkrupp's Daniel Kufer discussed at Industrial IoT World 2019.
