Starsky Robotics, an automated long-haul truck developer, recently announced that it has been operating its own traditional shipping service for two years now. The company has been commercially hauling freight for customers with its 40 trucks, 36 of which are completely nonautonomous. The four automated trucks have always had drivers in the vehicles for deliveries, though Starsky hopes to change that through the development of its teleoperations-focused tech. Starsky claims that operating its own freight-hauling services in parallel with the development of an automated truck enables a number of benefits.
