Praj Industries is an engineering multinational based in India with business operations in ethanol and wastewater treatment. The company primarily focuses on providing end-to-end technology, engineering, and manufacturing services for greenfield first-generation ethanol (1G ethanol) plants globally. Key 1G ethanol projects by Praj include Vivergo Fuels' 110 million gallons per year wheat ethanol facility, Aemetis' 60 million gallons per year (GPY) corn ethanol facility, and EcoPetrol's 48 million GPY sugarcane ethanol facility. In addition, Praj has developed a proprietary dilute acid pretreatment process for cellulosic ethanol (2G ethanol) production and currently operates a 270,000 GPY demonstration plant.
