Major cities like Las Vegas, Nevada, contend daily with a variety of civic and environmental issues. There are perennial issues like traffic and pollution as well as emerging issues like climate change that are driving a need for technology-based solutions to keep these urban environments safe, clean, and comfortable. With an eye on addressing some of these challenges while attracting tech-based investment to the area, Las Vegas needed an inexpensive and sustainable solution for connecting its vast metropolitan area – and its famous neon lights – to a cloud-based smart cities platform.
